tom cats brawl in the quiet greys

city fades in the smoke and haze

roadways bathed in the fading light

almost asleep but for now, not quite.

here a fly in the warm breeze whines

there a crow rests on powerlines

just a moment in time, then it passes on

only a glimpse, and now its gone.
