the litte things that matter

in my life it is the little things that matter. i have no respect for big things, big things are dangerous. big things steal something from you, that you can never regain, that you will most likely never miss, or if you do you will write it off as the fallout of growing up. its not innocence of which i speak, its that indefinable sense of wonder in the world, lost as things become commonplace. when the big and important comes up, the little things seem less valid somehow. its all overtaken in guilt, or remorse, or joy, or those emotionswe feel we cant escape from.

dear reader, if in fact you exist, can you join me in the appreciation of the wonder that was? i think not. not unless you too are like me, trapped in an inner cannister of glass from which i look out and fake emotions. im a good faker, better even than that guy who pretended to be stanley kubrick. it is this which only the damaged, like me, can appreciate. or even want to understand. this may seem somewhat self indulgent, or self pitying, or just generally wallowing, but i dont care. you can all take your opinions and get f***ed. those of you who get what im talking about, its you im talking to, noone else. the rest of you can get bent

just concentrate on the little things more - it helps me when i'm feeling down. who really gives a shit about the big things? and who decides what things are "big" things and what things are "little" things?

love you,
flea

So 'morals' count as big things in your eyes then then? That would explain your general disregard for them, I guess.

I think I speak for everyone around here when I say, in the politest way possible, "shut the fuck up".

You can't even cap your own curiosity and stop reading this blog. Some general disreagrd might do you good.

I reckon only thing worse than anonymous comments are people claiming to represent everyone when really they only represent their own uppity selves. Y'all so brave behind your shields of anonymity, aren't ya?

I don't like what the jenius says, but I shall defend to the death his right to say it.

I'll be taking money at $2.40 on Veech and $1.25 on Everyone and Anonymous. Veech must nominate a tag, rules are WWF style. I'll try and find a burning cage by Tuesday...

Damn you Veech, I was going to say that! =P How can someone claim to speak for everyone when they don't even have the guts to speak for themselves and not post anonymously? Anyway, the recent comments would suggest that you do not indeed 'speak for everyone'. There's a large number of people who see things the way I do on this particular matter, and I think you'll find that your opinion is in the minority. Regardless, I think it's best if this isn't continued in a public place like this. If anyone wants to discuss anything with me, please contact me privately, I'm sure you know how. I have nothing more to say on this for now.

veech, total respect for that. put it in perspective, friends. we might all go and get fucked, but that's a little bit rude to say that we who like our own ideas are not valid, don't matter. consider that young children were instructed to bite a friend to death, and were to be killed if they did not rise from her slowly mutilated body with chunks of her flesh, then come back and tell me that we matter, that our pain is valid, that our pain is real. i take no sides and i back no winner.

Jeffries, I hate you, but can't think of an insult that makes me sound superior, and is awful enough to express that effectively.

What a ball of bitterness. How boring.

the only thing boring is that you think you are important enough to warrant free license to sleep, kiss and love around without people thinking you are worth nothing.

Well isn't this a "nice, positive" selection of comments? Not saying NE More!

No one's worth nothing. I think the world would be a shite bit better if we ALL thought we were important enough to be worthy.

Since, oh, I don't know, maybe we are?

Well, little things do matter, sometimes it's a light touch on the shoulder in passing... it's the knowledge that there is the security in a friend out there who is not going to change direction in the next wind shift, and it's the acknowledgement that the pain of the heart is real... even tho it'll never be fully discovered, 'cause it'll never be fully disclosed.

There are so few spaces left where you can just sit down and write what you want to or what you feel without judgment. I'd like to think these blogs are still one of them.

I disagree. By publishing a blog on the internet, a public domain which everyone all over the world can view and comment on, you are accepting the fact that people might comment, and not always in a positive manner.

Granted, but for me that's what it's still about.

i happen to agree with david, though i don't often, but to me if you want to codify something of your inner thoughts without judgement, the place to go is a journal, a diary, a locked box, not a publically viewable, unrestricted site that allows comments (which i might add is a disable-able feature on blogspot). so in allowing that public viewing, you can't really expect to be able to say things that may antagonise others without expecting the flack to come right back at you. but then again, what do i know, i'm just bored on a monday afternoon after a big night out, reading through people's blogs that i don't really know. who cares about my opinion? probably no one. so hey! that's what it's all about.

Monk, I'm curious as to why you think I want to save the planet?

Anyway, I refuse to discuss the rest of your comment here (ironically out of sensitivity), but please feel free to email me (I'd actually like you to, even if you use an anonymous address), as you clearly have a very limited understanding of what's going on.
